Horse riding stimulates positive psychological feelings. Being outdoors and in contact with nature helps you clear your mind and relaxes your body. Riding on a horse, and feeling the gentle caress of the wind on your face is something special. This is not what you usually experience in the busy city streets. This is why leisure riding is greatly encouraged by experts as a form of therapy.

Proper handling of horses are considered important. They too have feelings and can get sick like human beings. Wearing body protectors and a durable shoes prevent injury, in case your mare would stomp on you. A rider also has to feel the mood of his animal. You should never ride a pony that you cannot handle. There are wild ones that only trained riders can handle.

Do not be a show off when your ability does not allow you to show jump fences yet. Wait for the right time when you have the right skills to do so. Your safety is very important in whatever you do. Never compromise your protection. Riding a horse should be a fun and safe thing for the animal and you.
