The Hypothyroid Diet Breakfast

By Dr. Kevin Dobrzynski

It is very important for a person with hypothyroid condition to know what not eat especially during breakfast as this meal is very important for the growth and metabolism process in our bodies. It is therefore very important to choose the right hypothyroid diet plan.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it's the first meal of the day, and, it's the first meal since you started your fast. What fast?

You've been fasting since dinner the night before.

In case you are one of those people who skip and see no value in this first meal of the day yet you suffer from this disorder then it is very important that you start taking it.

However most people are not aware of this and end up not having breakfast but give more value to lunch and dinner.

So, what does the ideal breakfast look like for someone with hypothyroidism?

Food that contains carbohydrates like pasta and some cereals are good as they will boost your energy levels.

Smoothies are great because they're loaded with vitamins, minerals, fiber, antioxidants, fat, protein, and carbohydrates. Smoothies are super-nutritious, or at least they should be. This is why they work great within the hypothyroid diet.

Here are some mistakes to avoid when making your fruit smoothie...

Avoid vegetables like cabbages, cauliflower and broccoli among others as they interfere with the function of the thyroid.

People with this disorder should take their nutritional plans very seriously especially breakfast. Foods with carbohydrates will boost your energy levels.

One banana, a handful of frozen strawberries, 1/4 of an avocado, whey protein, one raw egg, and water.

Instead of eating fatty meat like bacon and hamburger during breakfast go for healthier protein food.

If you use a banana, make sure it's small, and use one that's partially green. Green bananas have less sugar.

The avocado provides good fat and fiber, this will keep you full. However, you can use coconut or coconut oil, or another source of fat.

Too much sugar will lead to weight gain. Avoid taking soft drinks like soda, processed juice and food stuffs like cakes and cookies during meals as it may not check on the reduction of some of the symptoms or signs.

Take your medication with water instead of juice for it to work properly. Do not include soybeans in your meals as it slows up the function of your medication.

Don't be afraid to experiment by adding veggies and herbs.

It also important to take water especially when taking your medication instead of taking juice or soft drinks like soda.

Happy blending.
