The power of living The Mediterranean Diet

By Allyson Daniels

The most unfortunate aspect of the American diet is that most people don't want to consume anything in a whole, organic state. They want their food completely processed and devoid of nutrition, which, consequently, is why 72% of Americans are considered overweight or obese. They want sugar in a process format, protein in a processed format, and they want everything to taste perfect but have no nutritional value.

--> Nutrition experts tend to be rather disgusted and a bit freaked out by the typical American way of eating, due to the horrific side effects. In fact, most professionals wish that the average American would stop eating like a pig and instead opt for something like The Mediterranean Diet, which leans towards monounsaturated fats instead of saturated, whole and completely unprocessed grains, protein that actually come from roots in the ground, and sugar in its natural form only. Fiber, well, that comes from every organic source they can get it from.

There have been thousands of studies done over the years which specifically relate to the Mediterranean diet and the food which the people of the Mediterranean region consume on a daily basis as part of their staple diet. The most commonly known aspect is the reduced mortality rates that relate to heart disease and cardiovascular issues, but the Mediterranean diet also has lower risks of cancer and other serious issues related to obesity.

Despite the fact that the Mediterranean diet is one of the most studied diet plans in existence, modern scientists still cannot explain all of the various synergistic components that make up the overall complexity of the diet plan. For example, is red meat consumption really more important than olive oil, and why is it that proteins from plants are so superior in comparison to others? Not to mention, what is it that makes probiotics so important on a molecular level?

One of the most important elements to take away from all of this is the simple fact that the Mediterranean diet is the most superior form of eating on the planet because it takes into consideration the natural symbiotic relationship between plants, animals and humans. This combination of energies results in a perfect combination of nutrition, energy and exercise, and as long as you incorporate this into your daily life you will achieve perfect health and wellness and avoid becoming an obese statistic.
