The Dilemma of Fat: The Good And The Bad

think that fat loss in general is a good thing in order to facilitate a drop in

overall body weight, it is not always the case.

In more ways than one, severe fat loss is detrimental to health. Therefore, any

person seeking ways to lose weight should pay close attention to the subject

of fat loss. Losing fat is not always a good thing especially when done

excessively.

When It Is Good

Fat loss is good when there is an excess of it. That means, you are taking in

more than what your body needs and as a result, your body is storing it up in

prone areas such as the belly, the arms, thighs, neck, and other areas.

Also, excessive fat gain can suffocate the internal organs as they get wrapped

up in fat tissues. This situation makes it harder for organs to function properly.

In situations such as this one, losing fat is generally healthy.

Other concern is the fact that additional fat tissues also require blood supply

and nutrition. This means, the more body fat you are gaining, the more work

there is for your circulatory system particularly the heart.

Some people also seek to lose fat for aesthetic reasons. There is nothing wrong

with this because self-improvement can bestow confidence and self-esteem.

However, the dieter must be careful not to lose more than what is necessary.

When It Is Bad

There is a reason why fat deposits exist in our body. During periods of time

wherein our body is deprived of nutrition intake, these deposits serve as

emergency energy. They are burned in order to compensate for the lack of

food. Therefore, having a certain amount of fat in our body is healthy.

Fat also acts as a cushion for your joints, organs, and other crucial parts of your

body. Without it, you will be more prone to injury. Losing these fats that help

protect the body can result in a weaker body frame.

Also, there are certain fats that the body needs in order to function properly.

Depriving your body of these fats can have detrimental effects on your overall

health. So generally, fat loss is not good when it is done in excess.
